Medical Sonography/Cadiovascular Sonography (Echocardiography) Program Director
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under limited supervision, the program director is responsible for the structure as well as the daily operation of the medical sonography and echocardiography programs, including the organization, administration, periodic review and evaluation, continued development, and general effectiveness of program curricula. Ensures effectiveness of all clinical facilities is maintained, interacts with and instructs students, and performs related administrative and record keeping duties. Reports to the Dean of Health Sciences
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required. ARDMS certified in abdomen, OB/GYN, and/or echocardiography required.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two years of full-time (defined as at least 35 hours per week) professional experience as a registered sonographer required. Minimum of two years teaching experience required. Teaching experience may be concurrent with professional experience.
SKILLS:
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills required. Must have the knowledge, professional demeanor, and computer literacy required to direct programs and instruct students in the classroom and clinical settings.

Job Summary:
Direct, plan, coordinate and review the educational services of the Medical and Cardiovascular Sonography Program; instruct classes in assigned division; coordinate assigned activities with other college program, divisions, departments and outside agencies; and provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Department Chair, Health Sciences and to the Vice President College Transfer and Technical Program.
Experience:

Training:

License or Certificate:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license.
Current certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in Abdomen and OB-Gyn required.

Registered Vascular Technologist: Duke University Cardiac Diagnostic Unit is seeking an experienced RVT, with a minimum of 2 years of experience. Technologist must be proficient in Duplex scanning of carotid, peripheral arterial, peripheral venous and abdominal vessels (including aorto-iliac and renal arteries).
